RegenPRP is RegenLab’s base autologous platelet-rich plasma — the standardised, leucocyte-reduced PRP that the rest of the range is built on. It is prepared from a small sample of the patient’s own blood in a single centrifugation, inside a closed, single-use kit.

What's in the kit

RegenPRP is prepared with the RegenKit-BCT — a single-use kit built around the Regen BCT tube. The tube is pharmaceutical-grade glass under vacuum, so a fixed volume of the patient’s blood is drawn automatically at the point of care. Inside, two elements do the work: a solution of sodium citrate, which provides reversible anticoagulation while the blood is handled, and a chemically inert thixotropic separator gel of a specific density. During centrifugation this gel migrates to form a physical barrier between the plasma-and-platelet fraction above and the red cells below, so the two do not remix when the tube is handled afterwards. Because the geometry and the gel are fixed, every tube yields a preparation of the same standardised composition. No reagent is added to the plasma itself, and nothing about the process depends on operator technique.

How the preparation works

The workflow is deliberately short and closed. After the blood draw, the tube goes straight into the centrifuge for a single spin — in the region of five minutes at a relative centrifugal force around 1500 g — with no second stage and no manual decanting. The inert gel separates the components mechanically as they settle by density: red cells below the gel barrier, the platelet-rich plasma above it. The clinician then extracts the RegenPRP through the closed system directly into the injection syringe, without re-suspending the unwanted cells that sit beneath the gel. Because the separation is mechanical and the parameters are fixed, the result does not hinge on the individual performing it — which is what allows one preparation to match the next. Preparation takes only minutes and happens entirely at the bedside.

What makes RegenPRP different

Standardised and leucocyte-reduced

Two properties define RegenPRP. First, it is standardised: the fixed tube geometry, separator gel and spin parameters mean the platelet concentrate is reproducible from one preparation to the next and from one practitioner to another — the recurring weak point of open, manual PRP methods. Second, it is leucocyte-reduced. The separation depletes the large majority of pro-inflammatory granulocytes while retaining mainly lymphocytes and monocytes, and removes virtually all red blood cells. The intent is a cleaner platelet preparation, with less of the inflammatory cell burden associated with leucocyte-rich PRP, while preserving viable, functional platelets and full recovery of plasma growth factors and fibrinogen. The exact depletion figures are documented by RegenLab and should be quoted from the current data on file rather than approximated. Where RegenPRP is used

RegenPRP is the base of the RegenLab platform, used on its own and as the starting point for the combination products. On its own, injected as a liquid, it is the preparation used for scalp biostimulation in hair loss and for local tissue support in gynecology and urology — each covered in its own section.
